Feb 24	Crotone, Italy - Teatro Apollo	Piano recital: Argerich - Goerner - Hubert -  Omaggio a Vincenzo Scaramuzza.  Basic and updated performer-info from Christine (thanks!)..   Scaramuzza, who taught young pianist Argerich, was borne in Crotone, and the town is presenting this concert on the 40th anniversary of his death in 1968.  This will be Argerich's first visit there.  See Feb. 17.

Jul 2 - Postponed	Nicosia, Cyprus Strovolos Municipal Theatre	POSTPONED until later in 2008 but exact date is unknown for now.  Ensemble Concert with Dora Schwarzberg (violin), David Abrahamian (viola), and Alex Chaushian (cello), in a program that includes works by Franck and Schumann.   Thanks to Quinten for the info and update.  And, on June 30, thanks to Björn Östlund for forwarding the postponement notice with the specific wording and reasons.  Ticket buyers should contact offices of the Pharos Trust for a full reimbursement.

Jul 22 - 7:00 pm	Verbier, Switzerland - Salle Médran	Chamber music with Stephen Kovacevich, Mischa Maisky, Yuri Bashmet, Jushua Bell, and another violinist, to be determined.   Argerich will play the Bach Partita No. 2 in c minor BWV 826; the Mozart Andante and Variations for one piano-4 hands, in G, K 501 with Kovacevich; Shostakovich Quintette pour piano et cordes en sol mineur op. 57.  Kovacevich will play some Beethoven solo works.  See Verbier Festival 2008 (July 18 - August 3).  Thanks to "Ruby Strad" for the program information.

        Anyone who heard and liked the Proms performance should get the newly released (in the U.S.) CD of the live Dec.'79 performance with Kord conducting.  Excellent sound and extremely similar interpretation (see main page for that).

    Interesting review on 8/20/00 by Charles Michener for the NY Observer,
of a Pollini concert, in that it references the recent Argerich recital and shows a healthy appreciation of two distinctly different styles of playing.
